Position: Sales Associate
Reports to: Store Manager
Location: Whistler
Whistler Provisions is an all-day neighborhood cafe in the heart of the village offering a variety of take away items and dine-in service featuring coffee, fresh baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, made-to-order sandwiches and salads, slow-roasted rotisserie chicken and a selections of seasonal sides!
The Sales Associate role is the first point of contact our customers have when they come in. We are looking for individuals who are friendly, outgoing, organized and have a genuine passion for hospitality and a desire to make a memorable customer service experience.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • 1+ years of experience in kitchens and/or service in a restaurant
  • Food Handlers License
  • Serving it Right an asset
  • Problem-solving and delegation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ideally in two or more languages
  • Able to accommodate a flexible schedule
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
    This position will remain open until filled.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain efficiency and grace with a sense of urgency throughout service.
  • Use strong communication and listening skills to effectively deliver accurate messaging to both guests and teammates.
  • Have full understanding of all menu items and how each is properly served and/or packaged with the ability to complete multiple FOH stations, roles, responsibilities, and tasks.
  • Acknowledge and positively engage all guests at the expediting counter while managing guest expectations.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of enlightened salesmanship and seek opportunities to inform guests about additional offerings (pastry, breads, rotisserie chicken, and other to-go items).
  • Have a general understanding of Department of Health (DOH) food safety standards.
  • Carry yourself with a warm, welcoming demeanor when interacting with guests and coworkers.
  • Derive pleasure from providing hospitality and exhibit excellent emotional self-awareness under pressure while maintaining a warm presence.
  • Oversee the kitchen pass during service periods.
  • Supports the kitchen and service teams as needed to uphold the highest quality of food, presentation, service, and timing, to create memorable moments of hospitality for our guests.
