Purpose: As the public face for LHAS, the Sales Associate/Visual Merchandiser is expected to be continuously updating their knowledge of the company?s product, service and policies. Responsibilities: Greeting customers, responding to questions, improving engagement with merchandise and providing outstanding service. Opens and closes storeOperates POS, and maintains Lottery machines, managing financialtransactions, balancing drawer and preparing deposits. Prepares PO to order repeat products from vendor. Ie snacks, drinks Assist with preparation of incoming merchandise, checks invoices, enters PO?s to get pricing tickets, unpacks and prices product. Maintains visual presentation of sales floor, products, signage and displays. Stocks candy, and other merchandise daily Responsible for ideas to increase store sales. Uses cross-selling techniques to increase customer purchase amounts. Maintains shop to ensure a safe and aesthetic environment. Ensures daily operations are overseen in an efficient and effective manner. Is aware of theft and ways to prevent it. HS Diploma required. Associate's degree preferred. Available to work full day shifts and weekends. Visual merchandising and retail experience, preferably 2 years in a gift shop Knowledge of merchandising and display to achieve sales impact. Maintains a professional appearance and is well spoken. Maintains a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction. Ability to turn a frustrated customer in to a happy customer requiring a combination of empathy and tact. Is a TEAM player The ability to read, write and perform basic math. Experienced with a POS system and basic computer skills. Able to lift and move heavy boxes. Up to 40 lbs. Ability to stand and work for extended periods of time. Must be able to walk between stores, transferring product, which is a half-mile. This is not a sedentary job.
