Description

Sales associates in the ski department play an important part in the store during the winter season. A great customer experience comes from the knowledge and advice our sales associates can provide and the relationships that they create. At Trailhead, we value lifelong learners and outdoor enthusiasts. As the outdoor industry is ever-changing, we are looking for employees who are adaptable, eager to learn and are excited about the outdoors as much as we are!

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a retail environment
  • Experience with cross-country skis and equipment
  • Experience in alpine-touring skis is considered an asset (Please specify in application if you have experience)
  • Knowledge of the outdoors and leading brands is considered an asset
  • Ability to multitask
  • Comfortable working on ladders
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work well as part of a team
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset

Responsibilities
  • Greets customers and creates a welcoming shopping atmosphere
  • Delivers exceptional customer service to everyone who comes into the store
  • Drives sales through customer engagement, sharing product knowledge and add-on selling
  • Assist customers in selecting and fitting skis and boots
  • Explain boot/binding systems
  • Size and camber test skis
  • Undersatand the differences between skis
  • Communicate winter shop services to customers
  • Complete work order forms for the ski technician and communicate appropriate wait times
  • Organize and maintain ski department in accordance with the standards set by the store and management
  • Maintain standards on related softgoods in the department
  • Answers phone calls and responds to customers’ questions
  • Assists with stocking the floor with product
  • Help in keeping the department clean and organized
  • Keep up to date on new product arrivals and current promotions
  • Assists with opening and closing tasks
