Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales and business development for ABB’ Product Line Service Robotics. You will manage the complete sales cycle from identifying opportunities and building customer relationships to closing deals, with a focus on delivering turnkey robotic solutions for applications and development of partner network and Ecosystem partners in areas such as Life Science & Healthcare laboratories (non-regulated market), hospital environments, Food Services, and Retail.
The work model for the role is: onsite / remote / hybrid. #LI-Onsite / #LI-Remote / #LI-Hybrid
This role contributes to the Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in Germany. Main stakeholders are customers, Industries front-end sales organization, inside sales teams, project managers and engineering.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities and market segments.
  • Managing the entire sales process, from lead generation to successful deal closure.
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with customers, and partners.
  • Creating tailored proposals and persuasive presentations to communicate ABB’s value proposition.
  • Monitoring market trends and competitor activities to adapt sales strategies accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • University degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field of study– alternatively, a completed technical apprenticeship or a state-certified technician qualification, each combined with relevant professional experience, is also welcome.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in industrial automation, robotics, or technical solution sales.
  • Proven experience in consultative selling and business development.
  • Knowledge of the markets Science & Healthcare, hospital environments, Food Services, Retail, or other sectors where human work can potentially be complemented by robots is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of value propositions for different customer types
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in both German and English.
  • Self-driven and able to work strategically and independently, while fostering collaboration across teams.
  • Willingness to travel within Germany (60 - 70%)
