Job Description
The Manager, Global Sales Compensation Operations Lead role is a unique opportunity that calls for a skilled, hands-on, analytical individual who will play a lead role on the operations team supporting data acquisition, incentive calculation processes, field engagement, reporting, training, and support. In this role you will execute the strategic vision for the compensation program and establish a team culture that will improve timeliness, accuracy, and transparency, with the ultimate objective of driving revenue and employee engagement through the sales compensation program.
This is a mid-level position, and as such, the candidate must possess a strong knowledge of sales compensation. In addition, the candidate must have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to partner effectively with numerous stakeholders across business units, commercial operations peers, and sales and executive leadership at all levels of the organization. This role reports to the Director, Global Sales Compensation and will be an individual contributor, as well as lead a team of operational analysts with future growth potential in line with delivered value.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
- At least 5 years of sales compensation experience with progressively increasing responsibility and complexity of work
- Experience establishing effective minimal risk processes, developing effective quality controls in an end-to-end operational environment that includes end-user training and communications
- Experience as a power user of at least one major sales compensation tool such as Xactly, NICE, Callidus, Varicent, Optymyze, or others
- Knowledge and experience in risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting
- Strong knowledge of sales incentive compensation concepts, sales data tracking processes, and methodologies
- Proficient in using advanced functions and formulas in Excel and data validation
- Experienced in creating and maintaining complex spreadsheets, dashboards, charts, and reports that present data in a clear and accurate manner
- Skilled in using data analysis tools, such as SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, or SAS, to manipulate, visualize, and interpret large and complex data sets
- Able to perform data quality checks, data cleansing, data transformation, and data integration tasks using various tools and techniques
- Capable of communicating data findings and recommendations effectively to various stakeholders using oral, written, and graphical formats
- Proven experience in business process improvement, with the ability to identify and implement process changes that enhance efficiency, quality, and customer experience, certification in six sigma preferred
- Excellent verbal, analytical, and written communication, and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with exemplary organization skills, must possess “can do” attitude
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated experience of successfully executing against tight deadlines, with a collaboration mind-set
- Detail-oriented, organized, and quality-focused, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Experience in working with cross-functional/cross-departmental and virtual teams
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
