Hickman Automotive Group is looking for a Sales Consultant to join our team at Hickman Chevrolet Cadillac in St. John’s. The primary role of a Sales Consultant includes providing exceptional customer service, promoting and selling products or services and building strong customer relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Presents a positive image of the dealership, both in the mode of dress and in a helpful and friendly attitude.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to established Sales Processes and Procedures and the ability to secure quality appointments.
  • Ability to effectively relate to customers of all backgrounds and to focus on customer enthusiasm.
  • Knowledge of company products (prices, models, series, options, warranties, vehicle maintenance, colors, standard equipment, specifications).
  • Daily follow-up calls to current and prospective customers (minimum of 20 calls/day)
  • Network and ask for referrals.
  • Ability to counsel customers (regarding their likes, dislikes, and needs).
  • Must have basic knowledge of automotive systems and thorough knowledge of prices, models, series, options, and other variations of manufacturer’s products.
  • Must have polished communication skills with customers, including the ability to present the dealership’s products and to pinpoint customers’ needs by interviewing and questioning.
  • Must calculate cost allowances, fees, taxes, and down payments to arrive at the price of a vehicle.
  • Must work with the Sales Manager in completing each sales contract to meet customers’ needs.
  • Capable of addressing customer hesitation and resistance.
  • Actively and regularly engaged on social media platforms, posting pictures and creating and sharing videos to target markets with relatable and pertinent information.
  • Stay up-to-date on customer trends and automotive products.
  • In conjunction with the Sales Manager, determine personal sales goals and the methods by which those goals will be met, which afford a structured method of building a clientele and achieving success.
  • Work systematically not only in the sales process but also in the process of handling the many administrative requirements of the position (e.g., paperwork, plans, reports, and the maintenance of a prospect and owner follow-up system).
  • Work readily with numbers and can discuss the company’s products with accuracy and assurance.
  • Continual learning and training on new approaches to sales, new information regarding products, new administrative efficiencies, and customers.
