PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must have experience in sales and business development.
· Ideally have had exposure to the decorative interior’s specification market.
· Considerable previous market experience with a successful supplier to the global hospitality market and knowledge of the London A&D sector.
· Drive, resilience, self-motivation, and a hunger to succeed.
· The candidate must be well organised and proactive with the ability to prioritise workload.
· Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ideally will have CRM experience.
· Project management experience is preferred with the ability to manage an opportunity from initial enquiry through to tender stage, delivery, and completion.
· Excellent attention to detail and customer care is essential.
· A strong working knowledge of all major Microsoft software (EG Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
· The ability to work as part of a wider team but with the capacity to plan and operate as an individual.
· Full driving license.
We are looking for a new colleague to bolster our sales team, to build on Chelsom’s success, and drive our business forward in the highly dynamic London specification market. This exciting role has tremendous scope.
Chelsom are currently involved in hospitality projects at all levels working with major hotel groups, interior designers & architects, third party FF&E procurement groups, main contractors, electrical contractors and project management companies all of which will be servicing the UK and global hospitality sector.
The new Sales Consultant will be responsible for developing new business with new and existing clients as well as looking after key accounts in Greater London and managing a pipeline of projects on an ongoing basis.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver a consistently high-level of customer service in line with Chelsom’s Company Vision, Mission and Sales Strategy.
Duties and Tasks - Primary Responsibilities:
· A proven salesperson with a “hunter” mentality who is passionate about nurturing existing client relationships as well as identifying future opportunities.
· Work to Business Development targets with a remit to generate new leads and opportunities.
· Maintain relationships with key accounts to ensure that they are fully aware of all available Chelsom products and services.
· The role is field based, and the candidate will work from a home office where they will be expected to plan visits, follow up all possible leads, quotations, tenders and opportunities on both a proactive and reactive basis.
· Work on an ongoing sales strategy as laid out by the Sales Director.
· Once a project comes online, the Sales Consultant will be expected to manage the process from inception to conclusion.
· For a live project, an in-house Sales Coordinator at head office will be assigned to each project to handle all project administration.
· The Sales Consultant will be expected to present products and services to interior designers so an ability to understand and an appreciation of the specification process is essential.
· Equally, the Sales Consultant will be expected to negotiate on all contracts with end-users and procurement teams.
· They will be expected to manage their on-going list of projects and will report back to the internal sales teams with all forecasts, updates, and status changes to ensure the senior management team has relevant, up-to-date project information at all times.
· Attend UK exhibitions that the company shows at in order to meet with existing clients and attract new ones.
· Utilise a newly integrated and state-of-the-art CRM system to manage contacts and a project pipeline.
· Regular trips to head office in Lancashire will be required as well as regular meetings with the Sales Director.
· The candidate will be expected to network with fellow suppliers to the contract sector.
