SALES CONSULTANT

PlayQuest Recreation – BC Lower Mainland
PlayQuest Recreation designs, supplies and constructs playgrounds, water spray parks, gazebo shelters, skateboard parks and park site furnishings in western Canada.
We are expanding our team and are looking for a dynamic sales professional to build on our existing client base, develop sales strategies, and grow our market share in BC. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that enjoys working remotely and is a highly-skilled communicator. This position requires effective communication with a wide range of clients including recreation directors, landscape architects, architects, engineers, developers, contractors, school principals, maintenance departments, parent committees and community groups. This is a full-time opportunity for a sales professional who can work independently in a home-based office, with support from an experienced team. The BC Territory manager will work to train and familiarize the successful candidate with the requirements of this position.

EXPERIENCE

You will ideally have the following experience:

  • Demonstrated success in sales consulting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with construction industry practices and landscape architecture is an asset
  • Vehicle and valid driver’s license – some travel required
  • Computer competency and strong negotiation skills
  • Post-secondary education preferred

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Background in a construction environment
  • Experience working in a customer service role
  • Being part of a project and sales team
Responsibilities

· Educate and train clients and specifiers on PlayQuest’s products and services
· Participate in trade shows in BC
· Travel the assigned territory for approximately 25% of your time to meet clients and potential clients in-person
· Set up and deliver Lunch & Learns, with the assistance of the BC territory manager.
· Ensure PlayQuest’s inclusion on RFPs and requests for quotations
· Follow up on sales leads provided by the company and its suppliers
· Seek out new opportunities
· Network with existing customers
· Determine clients’ needs and provide proposals and quotations in conjunction with our design and estimating team
· Conduct group sales presentations using PowerPoint
· Participate in sales training events hosted by both PlayQuest and its manufacturers
