ABOUT NET ZERO CAREERS

At the Net Zero Careers Accelerator (NZCA), we connect ambitious professionals with opportunities that make a real impact on the environment. Our mission is to drive the transition to a low-carbon future by matching talent with pioneering organisations in the green economy.

We are currently supporting a well-established and fast-growing renewable energy company that specialises in the design, supply, and installation of sustainable energy systems. Their projects span both commercial and domestic markets, delivering cutting-edge solutions such as:

  • Ground and air source heat pumps
  • Solar PV
  • Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR)
  • Underfloor heating
  • Cooling systems

As they continue to grow, the business is now looking for a Sales Engineer to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with technical expertise and commercial flair who is ready to play a key role in delivering innovative low-carbon projects.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

The Sales Engineer will help drive the success of new installations and refurbishment projects, initially focusing on smaller ASHP and PV systems, with the chance to progress into more complex commercial schemes.

This is a hybrid role, blending office, remote, and on-site work:

  • Two days per week based in the office (currently Potters Bar, with a planned move to North London).
  • Three days working remotely.
  • Site visits to client locations as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to and manage sales enquiries across domestic and commercial markets.
  • Conduct site visits, including heat loss surveys and noise assessments (training provided).
  • Engage with clients at early project stages, often via Microsoft Teams.
  • Prepare quotations, working closely with the in-house design team for technical input.
  • Build lasting client relationships through trust and expertise.
  • Provide advice on integrating renewable technologies into wider building systems.
  • Contribute to product specification and project planning decisions.

LONGER-TERM RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Specify renewable energy systems in collaboration with the design department.
  • Support larger commercial projects by attending site meetings and contributing to installation planning.
  • Assist in developing long-term client partnerships.
  • Play a role in shaping internal processes, design standards, and planning tools.
  • Stay up to date with regulations and industry schemes (full training provided where necessary).
