Construction Consultant - Sales Position Type: Exempt - Commission-based role with negotiable base salary based on experience  Reports To: Sales Manager  Location: Boise, ID (preferred). Qualified out-of-state candidates are encouraged to apply.  Travel: Monthly local and regional travel to client sites as required    Position Overview  The Construction Consultant will be responsible for expanding market presence and driving revenue growth by cultivating strong relationships with clients in construction, distribution, retail, and related vertical markets. This role requires proven success selling BIM/VDC, mechanical, electrical, or other construction-related solutions, combined with a consultative sales approach that positions the company as a trusted industry partner.  Key Responsibilities  Client Relationship Development & Sales Growth  * Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and facility managers.  * Prospect and secure new business opportunities through industry networking, referrals, and direct outreach.  * Represent the company as a construction technology and project delivery consultant, with emphasis on BIM/VDC solutions.  Business Development & Revenue Generation  * Meet or exceed sales targets through strategic lead generation and follow up, pipeline management, and opportunity conversion.  * Deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and ROI-based solutions tailored to client objectives.  * Maintain an active sales pipeline and track all opportunities in CRM systems. (Salesforce)  Account Management & Client Satisfaction  * Serve as the primary client contact for assigned accounts, ensuring exceptional service and repeat business.  * Collaborate with internal operations and pre-construction technical teams to align proposals and projects with client expectations.  * Identify additional service opportunities within existing accounts to drive account growth.  Qualifications  * 5+ years of sales experience in BIM/VDC, mechanical, electrical, or related construction technology industries.  * Demonstrated track record of B2B sales success with complex, relationship-driven sales cycles.  * Experience working with or selling to architects, engineers, contractors, and construction project stakeholders.  * Strong skills in account management and consultative solution selling.  * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and CRM tools such as Salesforce.  * Basic financial literacy for evaluating budgets, proposals, and ROI calculations.  * Exceptional teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.  Work Environment  * Outside territory coverage for local market, with travel to client sites job sites, and visits to office locations.  * Frequent use of computers, video conferencing tools, phones, and other standard office equipment.  Physical Demands  * Flexibility to work varying schedules, including extended hours with minimal notice.  * Ability to navigate both office and active construction site environments.  * Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.  ZELUS is an equal opportunity employer.
