Description

Salary: Target annual compensation range £31,000 - £38,000 per annum. Pay target range includes a typical sales commission.
Jisc grade: CRG2 (internal use only)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Location: Remote: Predominantly remote working, regular travel is required to Jisc offices and/or customers. Meeting in person is something we value so you may need to travel on occasion to our hub offices. OpenAthens is an international business so working outside core UK office hours and international travel will be needed occasionally.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • You will have 1 year+ experience in sales or marketing
  • Experience in a consultative sales process
  • You are currently working with multiple teams and channels
  • You have strong communication skills via phone and email and confidence speaking with new people and building rapport
  • You will be proactive and ambitious and a proficiency with Salesforce or other CRM software and experience as an SDR, with track record of achieving targets would be advantageous
  • If you have attended conferences as an exhibitor and experience working in the library and research sector that will also be nice to have.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Sales Development Representative reports to the Senior Business Development Manager. Your primary focus will be to maximise return on investment (ROI) from marketing activity by engaging with prospects at the early stages of the sales cycle to increase conversion rates.
You will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering lead nurturing strategies, your role will focus on attracting and engaging prospects, nurturing through the initial stages of the sales cycle and optimising conversion pathways before passing over to the relevant Business Development Manager.
You will work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager responsible for market growth and acquisition along with a range of internal and external specialists to ensure lead generation efforts align with business growth objectives and effectively develop and reinforce the OpenAthens brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As the SD Representative you will engage with all inbound expressions of interest from prospective customers, working closely with the administration team to ensure all enquiries are responded to within 48 hours
  • You will work closely with the Marketing team to develop and implement strategies that align marketing efforts with sales goals, providing the necessary tools, content and resources to empower the Business Development team in their interactions withprospective customers..
  • To also work with Marketing to develop and implement automated workflows to nurture leads through the sales funnel, ensuring timely and personalised communication.
  • To work with Marketing to develop and implement lead nurturing strategies to build a strong sales pipeline, implementing and managing lead scoring models to prioritise and route leads to the sales team based on their readiness to convert.
  • You will create and optimise conversion pathways to maximise conversion rates, working closely with content and channels teams.
  • Your role will analyse campaign and CRM data and key performance indicators to provide actionable insights to achieve maximum ROI, providing regular reports on the effectiveness of marketing and sales activity and lead management processes.
