Position: Sales Director – Tanzania Location: Tanzania Industry: Fintech / Consumer Finance / Distribution Compensation: Market salary + 50% Role Purpose The Sales Director Tanzania is responsible for designing, building, and scaling an efficient national sales and distribution channel for a fintech-enabled consumer finance business. The role owns the go-to-market strategy, channel architecture, sales execution, and team performance, ensuring fast, controlled, and profitable growth across Tanzania. The position requires a deep understanding of the local distributor ecosystem, agent networks, retail landscape, and last-mile sales models. Key Responsibilities Design, launch, and own the optimal sales model (agents/dealers/retail/field force) with a focus on fast and controlled growth. Build and scale a national sales network from scratch, ensuring coverage across key regions of Tanzania. Form and lead the sales team: structure, hiring, development, KPIs, and motivation. Take full responsibility for achieving sales targets and productivity across all channels. Build and manage strategic partnerships with distributors and key local players. Ensure integration of sales with the supply chain: product availability, forecasting, and stock control. Implement unified processes, field discipline, and transparent reporting across the network. Continuously optimize channel economics (CAC, efficiency, contribution to margin, and growth). Act as the voice of the market — provide structured feedback on product, terms, and processes to improve conversion and portfolio quality. Requirements Experience in sales/distribution in Tanzania. Proven hands-on experience in building a sales channel from scratch and scaling it. Deep understanding of: -the Tanzanian distributor market, -agent / last-mile models, -the supply chain. Experience in managing a large field sales team. Background in fintech / telecom / FMCG / devices / consumer finance is a plus. Strong leader with a results- and execution-oriented mindset.
