You are a commercially driven professional with excellent knowledge of the market and a strong track record of senior-level sales engagements. You have deep experience selling complex technical solutions and are comfortable managing the entire sales process—from initial engagement through to successful delivery.
You’re a trusted advisor to your clients, bringing strong industry relationships and a service-minded approach to building long-term partnerships.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant higher education (MSc, MBA, or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of proven business development or sales executive experience, meeting or exceeding targets
  • An established industry network with strong relationships to key stakeholders
  • Enterprise sales experience in video compression, streaming, online video production, OTT, FAST, IP networking, and cloud or cluster-based networks
  • Strong knowledge of live video workflows for media and broadcast companies, including live linear channels, live event contribution, and OTT delivery using cloud-based services
  • Comfortable engaging with clients at C-level in technical and commercial discussions
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of our scale-up plans for growth, Appear is looking for an experienced Sales Director to join our team in Sydney. In this role, you will help secure new projects and increase revenue in the ANZ region, working closely with regional leadership to develop and execute sales strategies.
You will engage directly with Tier 1 fibre network providers, broadcast operators, and content owners to deliver technically complex solutions for large-scale projects across live and offline professional video delivery. This role involves international travel and requires a strong industry network and a consultative approach to ensure our solutions meet customers’ needs from concept to delivery.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Increase yearly revenue by meeting or exceeding targets in line with global business objectives
  • Work closely with the regional head on sales strategy, identifying key market segments and prioritising sales activities
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to ensure a steady flow of opportunities
  • Actively seek new clients and business opportunities, mapping organisations and identifying key influencers
  • Maximise sales potential with key customers and partners by developing strong, trusted-advisor relationships
  • Collaborate with Technical Sales to prepare tailored materials and proposals
  • Prepare regular sales reports and provide accurate revenue forecasts, identifying areas for improvement
  • Work cross-functionally to address customer needs—from product feature development to customer portal enhancements
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and customer meetings to build brand awareness and provide market feedback
  • Availability to travel as needed
