ProAg has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Director, Livestock, to join our team. You will oversee the management of all strategic relationships within ProAg’s Livestock insurance program, with a focus on executing strategies to drive new premium growth in target markets and strengthen agent retention. This position offers an immense opportunity to develop strategic relationships with current and potential producers of profitable business.
Reporting to the Head of Sales and Business Development, you have the responsibility for meeting/exceeding Livestock insurance sales goals and servicing products sold by ProAg in key target markets.
This position is a remote position. You will be required to travel up to 50% of the time or more.

In This Exciting Opportunity You Will:

  • Be responsible for the obtainment of Livestock insurance sales and profitability goals in target markets.
  • Drive creation of sales strategic business plans for livestock accounts, in collaboration with sales leadership team.
  • Grow Livestock premium sales in targeted areas by enhancing retention and expanding the existing book of business through current agents, while generating new business by identifying and recruiting new agents.
  • Partner with District Sales Mangers and Regional Vice Presidents in identifying and prioritizing requests across learning, content and pipeline optimization.
  • Monitor competitor and industry trends to identify marketplace characteristics and ProAg’s competitive advantage. Participate in industry groups and conferences.
  • Develop and execute Marketing Plans in collaboration with the marketing team to meet market changes/demands and promote the Livestock program in targeted areas.
  • Coordinate with other Regional Vice Presidents as needed to manage relationships that geographically cross regions.
  • Work with internal resources to escalate issues impacting the service of agents and/or policy holders within the targeted region.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant and progressive experience, preferably in sales.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in crop insurance or related agriculture experience, preferably in livestock.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience including a farming background.
  • Extensive knowledge of livestock insurance, particularly LRP, and related USDA programs.
  • Strong understanding of livestock operations and the agricultural market.
  • Proven experience in relational sales and business development.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate both horizontally and vertically throughout the organization to leverage internal resources as needed.
  • Self-motivated, result-driven, and comfortable asking for and securing business.
  • Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable areas of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment.
