Description

The Sales Director is responsible for leading and executing the sales strategy at RD Industries across all markets, channels, and customer segments. This role provides visionary leadership to the sales team, drives revenue growth, ensures exceptional customer engagement, and plays a critical role in strategic business planning. The Sales Director oversees account management, business development, sales operations, and customer service performance, ensuring alignment with RD Industries’ overall growth goals. The ideal candidate is a hands-on sales leader with strong business acumen, a proven track record of managing high-performing teams, and the ability to balance strategic planning with daily execution. This role requires cross-functional collaboration with Product, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, and Finance teams.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Strategic Sales Leadership
  • Develop and execute the company’s sales strategy aligned with business objectives and market dynamics.
  • Establish and manage annual sales goals, forecasting processes, territory plans, and performance metrics.
  • Identify new market opportunities and lead initiatives to expand into emerging verticals and geographies.
  • Ensure alignment between sales objectives, product initiatives, and customer needs.
  • Team Development & Performance Management
  • Lead, coach, and develop a multi-level sales team including field sales, inside sales, account managers, and support staff.
  • Set clear performance expectations, manage KPIs, and conduct regular 1:1s and team meetings.
  • Drive a high-performance, accountable sales culture focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer success.
  • Customer Engagement & Market Development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and channel partners.
  • Serve as the executive sponsor for major accounts and critical negotiations.
  • Attend trade shows, customer meetings, and industry events to represent RD Industries and support sales initiatives.
  • Sales Operations & Execution
  • Oversee the sales pipeline from lead generation through close and post-sale support.
  • Ensure effective use of CRM and sales tools for pipeline visibility and forecasting accuracy.
  • Monitor pricing strategies, discount structures, and margin targets to protect profitability.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to refine messaging, campaigns, and launch strategies.

Work ConditionsThis role operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment. Occasional PPE use may be required during facility visits. Regular travel (domestic and occasional international) is expected, up to 30%. Qualifications:

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to execute at both macro and tactical levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on influencing and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and hold teams accountable for performance.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms, forecasting tools, and sales analytics.
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of margins, pricing, and profitability levers.
  • Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive sales experience, including 5+ years in sales leadership roles.
  • Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in packaging, dispensing, or industrial components.
  • Experience working across international markets is preferred.
