Job Summary The Sales Director, Team Sports is responsible for leading and developing a nationwide team of territory sales representatives to drive sales growth in the school, league, club, and Team Dealer markets. This role combines strategic leadership, account management, and field execution to expand market share and strengthen customer relationships across all regions. Essential Job Functions Lead, coach, and motivate a team of territory sales representatives to achieve revenue goals and performance objectives. Develop and implement strategic sales plans for team sports channels including schools, clubs, leagues and Team Dealers. Work with Category Managers and Marketing leadership to manage to a Sales calendar aligned with each sport season. Drive a strategy for new customer engagement by leveraging key partnerships and other lead generation tools. Oversee Territory Representatives’ pipelines to verify follow-through and accountability. Manage key regional and national accounts, ensuring strong customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships. Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Collaborate with marketing, product development and operations to ensure alignment on promotional programs and product availability. Oversee recruitment, onboarding and training of sales representatives to build a high-performing team. Represent the company at trade shows, tournaments, and industry events to build brand visibility and strengthen relationships. Provide accurate sales forecasts, territory performance reports, and competitive insights to senior leadership. Requirements Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of sales leadership experience, preferably in sporting goods, apparel, or related industries. Proven success managing remote or field-based sales teams across multiple territories. Strong understanding of the team sports market, including school, league, and club purchasing cycles. Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills. Data-driven mindset with proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
