Responsibilities

A day in the life of our Sales Director… it demands high levels of energy in order to keep up. They need consistency even though the days are never alike; and creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all of the tasks that our Sales Director accomplish would be lengthy but the list below is essential to know.

  • Our Sales Directors are responsible for developing sales strategy to solicit and further develop existing accounts revenue goals. The Sales Director develops sales strategy to prospect and uncover new business in assigned market territory
  • Monitors Hotelligence reports and other hospitality related resources to gain market share from the competitive set.
  • Promotes awareness and positive image of Dorchester Collection and the hotel both internally and externally.
  • The Sales Director maintains accurate and clean Nexus account database; inputs all opportunities into Nexus on a timely basis.
  • Conducts tour of the hotel and coordinates on-site client entertainment to showcase all hotels services and amenities.
  • Travels to attend trade shows/events and conducts sales calls, dependent on assigned market.
  • Our Sales Director assists the Area Director of Sales and Marketing and Area Director of Sales with the development of the marketing plan and budget for market territory.
  • Works varying schedules to reflect business needs of the hotel.
  • The Sales Director supervises sales coordinators to ensure completion of daily tasks and assists with further development of their potential within Dorchester Collection.
  • Participates in all relevant meetings including, forecast, daily business revenue, and weekly revenue and sales meetings.
  • Conducts quarterly site visits to competitor hotels and report on opportunities and advantages. Maintains communication with RSO’s on market production and updates.
  • Our hotels are truly luxury hotels. This requires preventing and correcting the imperfections and blemishes that tend to come up. Our Sales Director are relied upon to report these and work with several other positions to correct.
  • Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. Our Sales Director must communicate with other departments and extended hotel team in order to ensure the alignment remains.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods, to reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. Manual dexterity and coordination are required to operate office equipment. Stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. They must occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist. Lift, carry, push, and/or pull light (10 lbs) to moderate amounts (up to 30 pounds) of weight.
