DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

Digital Distribution
The Canadian Digital Distribution team is responsible for driving transactional digital film and television revenue (EST/VOD) for SPE’s portfolio of content across Canadian digital retailers.
TV Distribution
The TV Distribution team is responsible for driving revenue from SPT film and television content to linear, SVOD, AVOD, and FAST television clients from across Canada in both English and French.
Sales Planning
The Sales Planning team is responsible for all deal management functions (e.g., managing rights, licensing terms, exclusivity, financial terms, execution, and approval of license agreements, etc.) for all medias in Canada. They will act as a hub of information and assist in workflows between Sales Planning, Legal, Materials Delivery Team, Finance, IT and Home Office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of and interest in the television and digital media landscape
  • Passion for film and television content
  • Familiarity with entertainment business models
  • Understanding of general product strategy
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with multiple levels of management
  • Ability to influence process improvement and innovation
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize successfully
  • Self-motivated and dedicated to performing above expectations
  • Exceptional facility with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of database systems in particular AirTable or an equivalent.
  • Demonstrable analytical and mathematical skills
  • Pursuing a degree in entertainment, business, economics, accounting, or a related field

Responsibilities
  • Assist account managers in documenting retailer capabilities and competitive strategies, and building out “playbooks” on these subjects to be used and updated in the long-term
  • Track the merchandising of Sony content on AVOD / SVOD / FAST/Transactional partner platforms and summarize collection strategy, advertising placement, other observations to support future sales activity, and overall compliance.
  • Analytical and reporting assistance to update platform cannibalization rates, new release sell-down rates, and assess internal/competitive promo performance
  • Administrative support with internal systems to facilitate price testing, promotional analysis, and day-to-day account management
  • Utilizing pre-existing available content lists, support the creation of narrow client specific available content lists on a case-by-case basis.
  • Compile daily linear overnight ratings and distribute to internal stakeholders.
