POSITION SUMMARY  As a Sales Engineer at Vertiv Japan, you will play a critical role in bridging technical solutions with customer needs. You will be responsible for managing and interpreting customer requirements, proposing tailored solutions, and delivering compelling presentations and quotations to drive successful sales outcomes. This role demands close collaboration with internal sales, project, and service teams, as well as external partners, to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction. This position is instrumental in achieving Vertiv's growth objectives in the Japanese market.    RESPONSIBILITIES  Manage, interpret customer requirements and persuade proposed solution, product or service that best satisfy their needs  Prepare and perform presentation and customer quotations, negotiate tender and contract terms to close sales  Provide pre-sales basic technical assistance and intermediate product education  Analyze costs and sales performance to meet sales targets and prepare management reports  Coordinate with other staff in sales and projects & services staffs across functions  Support marketing activities; conferences and other marketing events  Be accountable for the achievement of sales target assigned  Enable the partner organization to be prepared for quoting and winning business through appropriate training, certification, demonstrations and related programs    QUALIFICATIONS  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, or a related field  Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Sales Engineer or in a pre-sales role, preferably within the Mechanical & Electrical contractor industry or a related sector  Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, batteries, and DC power systems  Familiarity with mission-critical infrastructure, especially for data centers  Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications  Effective communication skills in both Japanese and English      The successful candidate will embrace Vertiv’s Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.    OUR CORE PRINCIPALS:  Safety.  Integrity.  Respect.  Teamwork.  Diversity & Inclusion.  OUR STRATEGIC PRIORITIES  Customer Focus  Operational Excellence  High-Performance Culture  Innovation  Financial Strength  OUR BEHAVIORS  Own It  Act With Urgency  Foster a Customer-First Mindset  Think Big and Execute  Lead by Example  Drive Continuous Improvement  Learn and Seek Out Development    At Vertiv, we’re on a mission to empower the people that will power the future.
