The Solutions Engineer has consistently demonstrated proven technical understanding of technical and security integration applications. The Solutions Engineer will partner with the sales team assisting potential customers in scheduling materials, developing systems, writing specifications, and building buying programs. The Solutions Engineer works with clients to maintain their specifications with the most up to date products and ensure they meet applicable life/safety, ADA, and fire codes. The Solutions Engineer will serve as a resource for our client, internal resources, and project associated vendors. The Solutions Engineer will handle division 28 projects.

Essential Functions

  • Manage all requests and questions regarding assigned customers/projects.
  • Coordinate new customer engineering needs.
  • Work directly with in-house resources, third party vendors and clients.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous work environment when dealing with customers, vendors, inspectors, and team members.
  • Review ongoing projects auditing SLA metrics and identify areas of potential improvement.
  • Assist with pricing/margin review.
  • Provide client feedback to responsible team members.
  • Engineer specifications for new customers.
  • Revising or adding to specs/hardware sets on existing customers.
  • Coordinate between all divisions to create a comprehensive proposal including a detailed scope of each opening type and security system.
  • Liaison between manufacturers, BD and Director with spec assistance and costing
  • Review all materials on first few projects with customers to ensure the desired needs/wants were met. This will require travel.
  • Trouble shooting/technical guidance for internal teams as well as for our customers.
  • Utilize Comsense for building customer specific libraries, entering all hardware sets.
  • Follow-up with necessary departments and team members to ensure project completion and analyze feedback from team as well as customer.
  • Support the Enterprise Account sales team in technical discussions and meetings with customers as needed.
  • Function as a client technical representative offering problem solving expertise as necessary.
  • Keep customer specifications up to date, maintaining frequently.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Current and valid US driver’s license preferred
  • At least 3 years in a pre-sales support/estimating position with access control and CCTV/IP video surveillance, or hands-on physical security industry experience.
