Description Sales Engineer - Emerging Markets The Sales Engineer will operate as a liaison between sales, clients, and internal engineering/product development teams, to provide technical expertise and ensure a seamless client experience through the sales process. This position will collaborate with sales to understand client needs, identify sales opportunities, and provide customer centric solutions, to drive revenue growth across multiple vertical markets. This role involves managing multiple customer accounts simultaneously, ensuring high-quality technical guidance within set timelines. To support and contribute to XKL’s ambitious revenue objectives, occasional evening and weekend work may be required. What You Will Do Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of XKL Communications Layer 1 Optical Transport equipment. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, translating customer needs and articulating functional and technical requirements and product positioning through storytelling and solution demonstrations. Provide product and onboarding support, education, training, and industry best practices to ensure sales and client success. Partner with sales to produce proposals, quotes and RFP responses that align to client objectives. Participate in client presentations to showcase XKL product value. Project manage and collaborate with cross-functional teams, to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions Effectively manage client expectations by setting clear goals, timelines, and deliverables for product(s). Identify new business opportunities by analyzing client needs and making recommendations for additional services or products that could benefit the client. Support post-sales activities, including product implementation, customization and integration. Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends, competitor products and emerging technologies in the optical networking space. Requirements What You Will Bring Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering plus 2-4 years of on-the-job experience, or equivalent professional experience. Knowledge of sales cycles and ability to integrate previous Sales Engineer experience to XKL sales model. Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. Three or more years’ experience working in a technical, consulting, or client-facing role. Problem solving attitude, with the ability to articulate complex topics to a novice, non-technical or technical audience. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events. Nice to Haves Strong knowledge of Layer 1 optical transport technologies, including muxponders and transponders.
