OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Sales Executive to take the lead in growing our events and hospitality sales. This role will focus on increasing customer footfall, driving new business, and developing corporate and leisure accounts — starting with our greyhound racing programme and expanding to include horse racing and other major events when the track reopens.
Whilst working from home will be supported, the postholder will be expected to be onsite / visiting clients for the majority of their hours.

Towcester Racecourse is a well-known racing and hospitality venue. Hosting live greyhound racing on and home to the English Greyhound Derby. The venue includes a large capacity restaurant, hospitality boxes, fast food and drink outlets. The venue is also expanding into diverse events such as concerts weddings and festivals.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in sales within the events, hospitality, leisure, or sports industries.
  • Strong understanding of customer engagement and event-driven sales.
  • Racecourse, racing, or sporting venue experience highly beneficial.
  • Expert level stakeholder management both internally and externally with a tenacity to get things done
  • Ability to think creatively to add value to ideas or solve problems
  • Experience of leading and managing a team of people
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams etc.)
  • Ability to successfully deal with a large group of internal and external stakeholders
Responsibilities
  • Proactively generate and close new business across events, hospitality, and group bookings.
  • Develop relationships with corporate partners, sponsors, and hospitality clients.
  • Create and deliver strategies to increase customer attendance and engagement on race nights.
  • Work with the events and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery of packages.
  • Grow and manage a pipeline of repeat and long-term business.
  • Support the marketing team in promoting offers, packages, and themed race nights.
  • Prepare for the return of horse racing by developing packages and partnerships that expand our audience base.
