POSITION SUMMARY THE SALES LEAD AT GRIMCO PLAYS A CRITICAL ROLE IN DRIVING BRANCH AND REGIONAL SALES PERFORMANCE WHILE BUILDING THE FOUNDATION FOR FUTURE TERRITORY LEADERSHIP. THIS INDIVIDUAL SERVES AS A FRONTLINE SALES LEADER, COMBINING HANDS-ON SELLING, CUSTOMER COORDINATION, AND TEAM LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES. THE SALES LEAD WORKS CLOSELY WITH LEADERSHIP TO SUPPORT INSIDE, HYBRID, AND OUTSIDE SALES EFFORTS, CHAMPION CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE, DRIVE CRM UTILIZATION, AND STRENGTHEN SALES EXECUTION ACROSS THE BRANCH. THIS ROLE IS DESIGNED AS A DEVELOPMENTAL POSITION, BUILDING TOWARD A FUTURE TERRITORY SALES MANAGER OPPORTUNITY AS BUSINESS NEEDS AND READINESS ALIGN. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Sales Leadership & Execution: Own and support sales revenue and margin performance at the branch level through active participation in inbound and outbound sales. Lead by example with strong selling behaviors, urgent follow-up, and customer-first execution. Support CORE, exclusive, equipment, and web sales initiatives to drive growth. * Team Support & Development: Act as a frontline leader supporting Inside, Hybrid, and Outside Sales Representatives. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, urgency, and continuous improvement. Coach on sales behaviors, customer interactions, upselling, and cross-selling while helping develop future sales talent. * Customer Engagement & Experience: Build and maintain strong customer relationships through daily interaction, proactive outreach, and follow-up. Champion exceptional customer experiences by ensuring responsiveness, professionalism, reliability, and value across all touchpoints. Support retention, reactivation of lost business, and first-time purchaser (FTP) acquisition. * CRM & Sales Tools Utilization: Champion effective use of CRM and sales tools including 360+, HubSpot, Infor CSD, and Grimco Cube Data to manage pipelines, track opportunities, log activities, and generate actionable performance insights with accurate and timely data entry. * Performance Management & Accountability: Monitor sales performance against business goals, reinforce expectations, stress consistent and urgent follow-up, track wins and gaps, and provide regular reporting on highlights, challenges, trends, and roadblocks to Branch and Regional leadership. * Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Branch Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Marketing, Product, Operations, and the Equipment Team to align sales efforts, support marketing initiatives, and drive coordinated customer service and sales execution. * Operational & Administrative Support: Support order accuracy, shipping and invoicing follow-up, inventory feedback, slow-moving and returned inventory management, lost sales recovery, and branch initiatives including catalog mailings, special events, and operational projects. * Leadership Development & Future Readiness: Develop leadership capabilities aligned with future Territory Manager responsibilities by participating in planning discussions, market analysis, coaching opportunities, and strategic initiatives as readiness and business needs evolve.
