QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or in a senior sales role within the construction or survey industries.
  • Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience managing and motivating a sales team.
  • Strong understanding of sales performance metrics, forecasting, and pipeline management.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Solid organisational and time-management skills, able to prioritise effectively.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (desirable but not essential).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

This is a full-time role for a Sales Manager at Adaptive Surveys based in either our Aberdeen or Glasgow / Central Belt offices. The Sales Manager will be responsible for the following including but not limited to:

  • Create and manage CRM and sales systems
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company growth targets in surveying services.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across construction, real estate, architecture, engineering, and public sector clients.
  • Manage and grow relationships with existing clients to maximise repeat business and long-term partnerships.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and tenders tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proposals and project scopes are aligned with client requirements.
  • Track market trends, competitors, and client needs to inform business development strategies.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to represent the company and generate leads.
  • Develop accurate forecasts, sales reports, and KPIs for senior management.
  • Leading morning/weekly team briefings to review sales pipelines and targets.
  • Prospecting for new business opportunities — via calls, networking, and industry events.
  • Meeting with existing key clients to strengthen relationships and explore upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
  • Reviewing and approving proposals, bids, and tender submissions prepared by the team.
  • Monitoring sales performance dashboards and updating forecasts.
  • Conducting one-to-one meetings with team members to track progress and support development.
  • Liaising with marketing on campaigns, promotions, and lead-generation activities.
  • Preparing sales reports and presenting updates to senior management.
  • Handling escalated client queries or complex negotiations.
  • Overseeing CRM system updates and ensuring accurate data entry by the team.
  • Coordinating with operations/finance on pricing, contracts, and delivery capacity.

Although this will be an office-based role the successful candidate will be encouraged to visit new and existing clients regularly both in Scotland and the UK.
