QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Automation, Marine Engineering, Digital Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in B2B technical sales – preferably in marine, automation, or digital services.
  • Understanding of asset performance management, predictive maintenance, or condition monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with electrical propulsion systems, drives, or control automation.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate technical capabilities into customer value.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a commercially driven Sales Manager to lead the global sales efforts for our Asset Performance offering within the ABB Marine & Ports segment. This role is at the forefront of bringing advanced solutions—such as condition monitoring, cybersecurity, and digital asset performance optimization—to shipowners and operators.
You will be responsible for positioning ABB’s value-driven services, including monitoring of, drives, automation equipment, and Azipod® propulsion systems as part of our expanding digital portfolio.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the commercial success of our next-generation service solutions and to make a real impact on vessel efficiency, decarbonization, and operational reliability.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading global sales for asset performance solutions, including digital monitoring, predictive maintenance, and lifecycle services.
  • Developing and executing sales strategies that support growth targets across the systems.
  • Working closely with internal product management, engineering, warranty, and cyber teams to align offerings with customer needs.
  • Engaging shipowners, technical managers, operators, and shipyards to position the business value of asset performance services.
  • Preparing customer proposals, and solution packages tailored to individual vessel or fleet requirements.
  • Actively contributing to contract negotiations and ensure risk-aware deal structures.
  • Representing ABB Marine & Ports industry events and customer meetings on digitalization, energy effiency, and vessel uptime.
  • Providing market feedback to inform product roadmap and go-to-market strategies.
