The Mint is hiring a Sales Manager who can thrive in a dynamic and inclusive environment.
Reporting to the Managing Director of Sales, Foreign Circulation, the Sales Manager, Foreign Circulation is responsible for overseeing all activities of assigned sales customers in accordance with the goals and objectives of the organization. In order to meet their personal sales targets and objectives, the Sales Manager develops strong relationships with international Central Banks, governmental departments, local Mints and Canadian embassies. The incumbent is responsible for leading one employee.

LANGUAGES REQUIREMENTS:

• An advanced level of bilingual proficiency in both official languages (English / French) is required at the time of hire. If a bilingual candidate is not identified, other candidate language profiles may be considered in accordance with the Mint’s Staffing Policy

EDUCATION & DESIGNATION:

• University degree in a related field (Business, Political Science, International Relations or Trade preferred).

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 7 years of related experience in international sales, preferably with previous experience dealing with Central Banks.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience managing collaborative, multi-site, cross-functional projects and teams.

• Ability to travel up to 40%.
• Aptitude to understand technical specifications and production processes.
• Cultural awareness, with a broad understanding of different cultures, economies, legislation and methods of doing business in other countries.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Seek, evaluate, analyze and develop existing and future foreign Circulation Coinage needs.
• Promote the sale of foreign circulation coins and/or coin blanks in the assigned sales territory.
• Contribute to Business Line Sales Forecast for assigned territory.
• Foster, motivate and manage an existing international network of commissioned Sales Agents.
• Identify, qualify and recommend local Sales Agents for appointments in new target countries.
• Seek, evaluate, analyze and develop existing and future foreign Circulation Coinage needs.
• Promote the sale of foreign circulation coins and/or coin blanks in the assigned sales territory.
• Contribute to Business Line Sales Forecast for assigned territory.
• Foster, motivate and manage an existing international network of commissioned Sales Agents.
• Identify, qualify and recommend local Sales Agents for appointments in new target countries.
• Strong attention to detail, lead the preparation of bids/tenders and present bids/tenders according to customer and the Royal Canadian Mint’s (the Mint) requirements.
• Make periodic visits to assigned countries to maintain relationships with officials from Central Banks, governmental departments, Canadian embassies and local Mints.
• Lead and coordinate contract negotiations with the Mint’s departments including Legal, Finance, Supply Chain and Operations.
• Under signing authority granted by the Mint’s President and CEO, sign international contracts with Banks and Mints.
• Participate in international events attended by officials from foreign Central Banks, government departments and local Mints to maintain relationships and to ascertain business development opportunities.
  This opening is to be filled on a hybrid working arrangement, and the incumbent will be required to work from the Ottawa or Winnipeg location generally on an average of 3 days a week which could change based on operational requirements.
