As a Sales Manager, you are a member of the Sales Team, reporting directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing. You will lead in providing a memorable experience. Your professionalism and knowledge of the Hotel will reflect positively in how you present the property. By building strong relationships you will create bonds, ensuring your clients always choose Hilton!
With your strong negotiating skills and ability to influence decision makers, you will meet and achieve your sales targets. Your passion and enthusiasm in hospitality and sales will take our Sales Department to the next level.
This role will oversee a variety of markets including (but subject to change):
- Small meetings, 10-20 rooms peak for Corporate and Association markets
- Social room blocks
REQUIREMENTS:
- Have a minimum of 3 years Sales Manager experience in a full service conference services hotel. Hilton experience is an asset.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable automobile.
- Strong working knowledge of the sales process, including prospecting, cold calling and closing.
- Strong negotiation & presentation skills.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets by overcoming objections, solving problems and making decisions.
- Maintain a professional attitude and image at all times.
- Flexible and energetic with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent organizational & computer skills.
- Available evenings, weekend and holidays as may be required.
- Intermittent business travel as required.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain and expand business from existing clients by means of personal phone calls, phone qualifications, site inspections and entertainment.
- Solicit, evaluate and confirm new business from all areas of the assigned markets by means of personal sales calls, phone qualifications, site inspections and entertainment.
- Follow programs as outlined by Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Obtain information required for clients to make a firm buying decision.
- Participate in sales blitzes, familiarization trips and trade shows, as required.
- Respond to RFP’s per Hilton Standard of 4 hours, within assigned markets, and maintain an accurate reporting and tracking system.
- Handle all inquiries within one working day of receipt, with an aim towards same day response.
- Must have all rate quotes in proposal/confirmation form approved by the Director of Sales & Marketing or Director of Revenue.
- Maintain effective trace system for sales calls and follow up using existing Delphi FDC system.
- Provide all clients with any changes in hotel policy or rates as they occur in relation to their bookings or inquiries.
- Research new group opportunities on line, through databases, trade show attendee lists and other sources of opportunity.
- Follow up on groups both during after function for re-booking and receiving constructive information on improving our facilities and service.
- Follow up on leads through representation firms of Hilton Hotels National Sales Offices, Central Counties, CVent, Destination Markham, etc.
- Participate in special programs and promotions as required.
- Participate in any relevant or mandated training/improvement programs directed by the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Maintain and provide accurate weekly and monthly sales reports
- Maintain office professionalism with support staff and adhere to all hotel policies and procedures.
- Maintain good working relationship with all Hotel departments.
- Represent yourself and the hotel in the utmost professional manner at all time. I.e., through “electronic” and personal communication, actions and grooming standards.
