POSITION SUMMARY:

A leading provider of advanced manufacturing systems, software, and services is seeking a Sales Manager to implement regional sales strategies and drive business growth. This role is responsible for expanding revenue and increasing profitability through the sale of automation and capital equipment solutions, while strengthening customer relationships and identifying new business opportunities. The Sales Manager will work closely within a collaborative sales team environment to support overall team success.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated drive for business development and personal/professional growth.
  • Experience in independent prospecting, engaging target audiences, and communicating a compelling value proposition.
  • Deep understanding of metal-cutting manufacturing processes and related regulatory environments.
  • Strong aptitude for learning technical products and systems quickly.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales within the machine tool, manufacturing solutions, or related technical industries.
  • Proven experience in automation, metalworking, machine tool building, and/or robotics.
  • Specific expertise in manufacturing areas such as scheduling, tool management, and program optimization.
  • A technical degree from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Proactive, results-oriented mindset with a willingness to take on ambitious goals.
  • Customer-focused approach with a consultative sales style, including:
  • Listening actively and asking insightful questions to uncover client needs.
  • Analyzing customer challenges and aligning them with company capabilities.
  • Delivering tailored solution presentations that support the sales process.
  • Communicating the value of proposed solutions to various stakeholders.
  • Persuasive negotiator with a strong track record of closing deals.
  • In-depth knowledge of automation technologies for manufacturing environments.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to detect trends and translate insights into opportunities.
  • Willingness to continually develop sales skills and enhance performance.
  • Strong relationship builder with both internal teams and external clients.
  • Capable of managing pressure while maintaining accuracy and adaptability.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%, including domestic and occasional international travel.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute effective direct and partner sales strategies; maintain accurate forecasting and reporting in the CRM system.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with customers and prospects, ensuring responsive and timely follow-up to support customer needs.

  • Provide consulting support to customers and partners on manufacturing automation processes.
  • Articulate the value proposition of the company’s equipment, software, and services tailored to customer needs.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the manufacturing automation industry, including machine tools and robotics technologies.
  • Lead contract negotiations under the direction of sales leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Marketing, Product Management) to increase brand visibility and drive sales efforts.
  • Organize and conduct training sessions and informative seminars for customers.
