JOB SUMMARY

Proactive target oriented role reporting to the Sales Leader. This role is focused on Groups & Events and managing relationship with the MICE Agencies. The Sales Manager role involves a combination of new business prospecting and account management with the strong focus on New Business Development. Proactively manages relationships with multiple stakeholders. Works in-conjunction with the Global Sales office (GSO) / National Sales Team (NST) and sales team to ensure sales account revenue targets are achieved through strategic account management. Actively upsells each business opportunity to maximize hotel revenue and increase Sheraton Skyline Hotel’s market share. Achieves personal and team related revenue goals. Handles numerous accounts and in charge of MICE Third Party websites performance. Responsible to support Marriott’s Service and Relationship Strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience. Assists in leading all day-to-day activities related to sales with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of sales and hotel revenue objectives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area.

OR

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; no work experience required.
  • Proven leadership skills in supervising and managing teams
  • MICE Sales and Account Management experience
  • Knowledge of Marriott sales systems, including PMS, Opera, Sales and Catering, Marsha and any other sales/event system applicable
  • In-depth understanding of sales activities that drive Revenue, GOP and Profit (to achieve and exceed BP forecasts and targets)

USING KNOWLEDGE OF MARKET TRENDS AND TARGET CUSTOMER INFORMATION TO MAXIMIZE REVENUE

  • Identifies new business to achieve revenue goals
  • Understands the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them
  • Closes the best opportunities based on market conditions and location needs
  • Gains understanding of the locations’ primary target customers and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution
