Description Job Summary The Sales Manager is responsible for generating hotel revenue through direct sales efforts, account management, and relationship development within assigned market segments. This role focuses on prospecting new business, maintaining existing client relationships, supporting local sales initiatives, and assisting with the execution of the hotel’s overall sales strategy. The Sales Manager position is primarily focused on day-to-day selling activities, account development, and business generation. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Prospect and solicit new business opportunities through outside sales calls, networking, cold calling, email outreach, and client visits. Maintain and grow relationships with existing accounts to maximize repeat business. Generate group, corporate, negotiated rate, and local business opportunities for the hotel. Respond promptly to sales inquiries, RFPs, and leads. Conduct property tours and presentations for prospective clients. Participate in local business organizations, networking events, and community activities to promote the hotel. Assist in developing and implementing hotel sales action plans. Account Management Maintain accurate account, lead, and activity information in the CRM and sales systems. Monitor production of existing accounts and identify opportunities for growth. Follow up with past guests and clients to encourage repeat business. Coordinate with Operations and other departments to ensure successful execution of group and client expectations. Revenue & Market Awareness Understand hotel rate strategies, occupancy goals, and competitive market conditions. Assist with achieving monthly sales goals and revenue targets. Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify business opportunities. Administrative Responsibilities Prepare sales reports, call logs, and activity tracking as required. Attend sales meetings, revenue meetings, and other operational meetings as needed. Maintain organized client files, contracts, and correspondence. Ensure all contracts and agreements comply with company and brand standards. While ownership and senior leadership obligations will be the responsibility of the assigned RDOS, the sales manager is required to participate in result analysis and meetings as needed. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of hospitality and/or property management preferred. Ability to complete tasks quickly with little to no guidance and react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 1–3 years of hotel sales, hospitality, or related business development experience preferred. Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems. Knowledge of Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Choice or other brand systems preferred. Valid driver’s license may be required for outside sales activities. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods. Ability to travel locally for client meetings, networking events, and sales calls. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
