Description

Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Sales Manager to join our MRO Europe business. This role will be based at our newly created Ontic Tewkesbury site but travel between all of our Gloucestershire sites should be expected.

Job Purpose:
To lead and be responsible for the sales growth and development of our MRO business. The role will focus on leading the sales team, identifying and executing sales opportunities to generate organic sales growth for Ontic. This role will focus on sales and orderbook growth of the Tewksbury MRO site and ensuring that the bookings performance and results are in line with Ontic’s expectations and achieving the business cases of our various product lines. You will be expected to articulate and present the sales performance and sales strategies to internal stakeholders. You will also be required to be able to understand, interpret and utilise previous sales data, to identify new leads and opportunities to sustain and grow the business.
Within the role, you’ll travel on a domestic and international basis to visit customers and partners and participate in Industry Trade Shows from time to time.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ideally, you’ll have proven sales experience within the aerospace industry.
  • You’ll need to demonstrate experience of managing high-profile accounts within a previous role.
  • You’ll be a natural influencer and enjoy providing a consultative service with a win-win solution.
  • Lead and manage a team of Sales professionals.
  • Identify and execute sales strategies to target key distribution partners / customers.
  • Personal accountability for achievement of annual delegated sales target, driving spares sales growth in region within a high-profile territory and having the autonomy to identify and deliver growth opportunities.
  • Develop existing and create new business relationships at senior levels with international customers.
  • Prepare and deliver complex proposals and negotiate sales contracts with considerable discretion within the Ontic authorisation limit.
  • Establish, grow, and maintain relationships within customers.
  • Identify and manage your own sales pipeline of opportunities.
  • Convert quotes and sales campaigns into firm orders.
  • You’ll be able to demonstrate a technical understanding of systems and components similar to those supported by Ontic.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

You will have exceptional organisational skills, ability to manage a team, understand the sales process, creation and management of a sales pipeline, with passion and high drive to identify and execute sales growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with both military and civil aerospace customers.

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience, in an aerospace environment.
  • Over 10 years of sales experience, or a role working with customers and driving growth.
  • Skilled at working with all Microsoft Office products, and proficient at making presentations and using Excel for data.
  • Open and willing to adapt to a changing environment.
  • Self-starter with experience of working in a small, flexible team.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal, to gain the confidence of stakeholders at all levels.
