Description

Created by Petros and Ilias in 2017, Wikifarmer is a global platform with the mission of empowering farmers by educating them and offering them access to the open market to sell their products at fair prices.

IN A NUTSHELL

Are you ready to be the trailblazer who transforms the UK’s food service supply chain? Join our ambitious agri-tech start-up, backed by a rapidly growing digital trading platform, as the very first commercial team member on the ground in the UK. Your mission? To introduce premium, sustainably sourced olive oil—available both in bulk and bottles—to key players in the food supply industry.
This is a rare opportunity to build a customer base from scratch, define our go-to-market strategy, and make your mark as we expand across Europe. You’ll take full ownership of our UK sales effort, targeting wholesalers, food production companies, and distributors. If you’re passionate about food, thrive on building meaningful relationships, and want to be at the forefront of innovation in agri-food sales, we want to hear from you.
We’re looking for someone ambitious, hands-on, and ready to roll up their sleeves to make things happen.

Responsibilities

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including cold calling and attending trade exhibitions to expand the customer base.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, conducting regular performance reviews and addressing client needs.

Sales Execution:

  • Present products or services in a structured and professional manner to potential clients.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms with buyers and managers to close deals.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics, aiming to meet or exceed quotas.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare detailed sales forecasts, market activity reports, and financial analyses to inform decision-making.
  • Provide feedback on customer preferences and market trends to support product development and marketing strategies.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams (e.g., marketing, operations) to ensure seamless project implementation and alignment with client expectations.
  • Support junior team members and other departments in Wikifarmer through coaching and sharing best practices.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • You must be based in England.
  • Proven ability to sell in a competitive environment with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Solid experience in the food service supply chain, with relationships in wholesale, food manufacturing, or distribution.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build trust with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to analyse financial data (e.g., profit margins).
  • Proficiency in using digital tools like CRM software for managing client data effectively.
  • A founder’s mindset—you’re proactive, resourceful, and excited to take ownership in a start-up environment.
  • Nice to haves include e-commerce experience, logistics experience, and a knowledge of the Southern European olive oil ecosystem.
