Position: Sales Manager – Kensington
Ridley’s Cycle opened in 1945 following Harold Ridley’s return from WWII and has been family-owned and operated ever since. Ridley’s Cycle’s mission is to serve every type of rider in all our communities while offering the same kind of atmosphere Harold provided.
Ridley’s Cycle is seeking a motivated individual who is looking for a full-time Sales Associate role at our Okotoks location. This candidate would demonstrate characteristics like self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

DESCRIPTION

The Sales Manager plays a key leadership role in the daily operation of the store, focusing on team coordination, sales performance, and customer experience. The Sales Manager supports a culture of accountability and collaboration, helping to drive the store’s success by leading by example, supporting the team, and maintaining high standards in both service and operations.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

· Post-secondary education in Management or a related field – considered an asset
· 4 + Years in the Bike Industry or related retail
· 1 + Years in a Management position
· Expert bike knowledge
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships
· Expert on POS system (Ascend)

Responsibilities
  1. Drive sales through effective team leadership, coaching, and motivation.
  2. Lead the sales department in meeting and exceeding all sales-related KPI targets, including:
    a. Monthly Sales Targets
    b. Sales per hour
    c. Average add-on value
    d. NPS
    e. Margin
  3. Monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
  4. Collaborate with the buying team and service manager to ensure appropriate product knowledge and stock levels on the floor.
  5. Deliver exceptional customer service
  6. Handle customer complaints or concerns
  7. Create a welcoming and knowledgeable environment for staff and customers
  8. Conduct daily huddles with the sales team to align on goals, updates, and challenges.
    a. If not scheduled or present, delegate and organize a senior team member to lead the huddle and report back.
  9. Mentor and support sales staff, providing real-time coaching and regular performance feedback.
  10. Assist in staff scheduling, break management, and workload balancing during busy periods.
  11. Ensure team compliance with store policies and procedures.
  12. Responsible for completing the store opening and closing procedures when not at the store, ensuring someone is responsible for opening and closing.
    a. Cash reconciliation
    b. Store Cleanliness
  13. DRI for merchandising sales floor
    a. Use the provided marketing signage for promotions
  14. Work closely with the Service Manager to ensure floor coverage
  15. Attend and contribute to the management meeting
  16. Maintain strong communication channels with all team members
