WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead delivery of part of the Defence Combat strategy. We are looking for an experienced Capture and Sales professional to join our Business Development and Future Programmes team.
The Sales Manager role will be responsible for providing leadership of multi-functional capture teams accountable for delivering bids and proposals and profitable agreements with our key customers. We look forward to welcoming a team member who has a passion for creating customer value propositions, capturing new business opportunities, leading campaigns, and working collaboratively with diverse teams from across our global business.
The specific focus of the role will be influenced by matching the skills and experience of the successful candidate to the business priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be leading complex sales campaigns with customers and partners in our key defence markets to win orders that deliver our strategy and support out ambition to grow a sustainable business.
You will be leading multifunctional capture teams to develop competitive solutions for our sales campaigns, and supporting with the definition and execution of campaign strategies for both domestic and export opportunities.

You will be:

  • Influencing enabling business functions and programme teams to deliver key inputs in support of your campaigns, for leading the team through internal approvals, and supporting development of Rolls-Royce and customer business cases.
  • Pursuing commercial optimisation in all proposals, and negotiating strong commercial deals that balance risk and reward to achieve strong financial returns that deliver value to the business.
  • Working closely with Rolls-Royce Defence Government Relations to develop, keep current and execute comprehensive stakeholder engagement plans and strategic communications in support of key opportunities and campaigns.
  • Contributing to the implementation of continuous improvements in our sales processes and campaign toolkits, and to collaborating with teammates to help grow and sustain the range of expertise and skills within the Sales and Business Development teams.

  • Experience of sales, campaign leadership, customer or supplier negotiation and / or managing bids and proposal would be an advantage.
