Description The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the automotive sales department. This role involves leading a team of sales representatives to achieve maximum profitability and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities: Lead, coach, and develop the sales team, setting clear expectations, driving performance, and building a culture of accountability and growth. Own the sales process, ensuring consistent execution, strong follow-up, and a guest-first experience from first contact to delivery. Drive results through data, monitoring sales performance, identifying gaps, and implementing strategies to improve volume, gross, and efficiency. Champion customer satisfaction, resolving escalations professionally and ensuring every guest feels respected and well-served. Partner on inventory strategy, managing turn, alignment to demand, and minimizing aged inventory. Manage departmental profitability, controlling expenses, improving margins, and operating within budget. Stay market-aware and compliant, adjusting strategy based on competition and demand while ensuring all sales activities meet legal and dealership standards. Qualifications: Demonstrates a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity. 3+ years of experience as an Automotive Sales Manager or 5+ years in an F&I or Floor Manager role. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and exceeding customer expectations. Strong knowledge of the automotive industry and sales processes. Proficiency in using CRM software and other relevant tools. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Physical Requirements Sitting: The majority of the workday is spent sitting at a desk, using a computer and phone. Standing and Walking: There may be times when the sales manager needs to stand, walk around the dealership, or attend meetings. Reaching and Bending: The manager may need to reach for files, supplies, or equipment. Lifting: Occasionally, there might be a need to lift or move documents, supplies, or equipment.
