YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a passionate and driven individual to join our High Power division in Finland as Sales Manager for our Slow Speed Synchronous Generators business line. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the account strategy for designated markets/business segments. You will be responsible for both selected existing customers and identifying and developing new customer relationships within your market.
Recognizing the critical importance of customer satisfaction, you will discuss ABB’s value propositions with customers to achieve growth and meet sales targets. Building and maintaining strong relationships within customer organizations and becoming a trusted advisor for their generator needs will be among your top priorities.

You will collaborate closely with customers and work cross-functionally with product management, R&D, engineering, and operations to ensure customer needs are met with detailed, up-to-date support and follow-up, along with offerings that provide additional value.
The location of the role is Helsinki, Pitäjänmäki. The role requires presence in the office approximately 50 % of working time.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Creating, planning and implementing account strategies and business development initiatives for the designated markets/business segments for the Slow Speed Synchronous Generators business
  • Identifying and driving the development of new business opportunities in the designated market
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction and achieving sales targets through a structured follow-up process
  • Conducting effective sales activities, responding to RFQs promptly with relevant value propositions
  • Monitoring competitor activities and taking appropriate actions as needed
  • Collaborating closely with ABB internal resources and across the organization to define optimal solutions and processes for customers
  • Participating contract negotiations, pricing discussions and agreement renewals
  • Preparing financial forecasts

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

  • Several years of working experience in sales or other customer service-related roles in industrial business
  • Experience in account management with global customers, particularly with electrical machines, is an advantage
  • Knowledge of the power industry, renewable energy systems, and/or marine industry
  • Proactive, collaborative, solution-focused approach, with strong communication and customer relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in negotiation and interpersonal communication, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across customer-facing and internal teams. Recognized as a strong and reliable team player
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Further training in business/marketing is an advantage
  • Excellent skills in written and spoken English. Other language skills are considered as an advantage
  • Willingness and ability to travel primarily in Europe and occasionally internationally, approximately 30 days per year
