POSITION SUMMARY

Under the general guidance and supervision of the Director of Sales, this position oversees and co-directs all aspects of the sales functions for US Association Group accounts.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the maintenance of existing sales accounts, development and qualification of new accounts, establishment and achievement of revenue targets, and active participation in trade and association related organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5) years in a sales capacity within the Hotel industry with proven knowledge and experience of all Association markets and their requirements.
  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university, college or hotel school an asset in a related field or equivalent level of experience.
  • Excellent oral & written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have the flexibility to incorporate travel, evening and weekend work into their lifestyle; must have valid driver’s license and vehicle.
  • Computer Skills - Demonstrated ability with regard to computer skills, including an intermediate level of Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency with e-mail, internet and data base applications. Experience using the hotel program, Opera is an asset.
Responsibilities

THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SALES MANAGER INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Business development of new global Association Group accounts.
  • Oversee ongoing client relations with Association Group accounts, contract negotiations and hotel representation at industry related events.
  • Network with business influencers and decision makers ensuring the Pan Pacific Vancouver is visible and professionally presented.
  • Follow hotel’s performance and short/long-term forecasts to understand need periods as well as periods of high demand and price accordingly.
  • Practice professional account qualification on a consistent basis (i.e. budget, date flexibility, space requirements, competitive information etc.).
  • Maximize personal productivity by following a system of weekly and monthly action plans, which are reviewed by the Director of Sales.
  • Deliver outstanding client experiences with a personalized touch, attention to detail, & having empathy for customer perceptions and needs.
  • Respond effectively to all guest and client inquiries, returning all inquiries and messages in a timely manner and not longer than the same business day.
  • Emphasize teamwork in all decision-making. Provide clear directions to the Sales support associates.
  • Identify business trends and marketing opportunities that can improve hotel performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication at all times; provide special reports as may be required by the Director of Sales.
  • Develop and actively work in alignment with the Hotel’s Annual Business Plan & Budget, Individual and Team Revenue Goals.
  • Participate in Trade Shows, Sales Missions, and Networking Events to build successful relationships.
  • Continuously solicit for new business that expands our client base using action plans focused on the market segments identified in the annual business plan; achieve individual & team room night and revenue targets.
  • Provide precise, clear, and timely communication, special reports or events as may be required by the Director of Sales.
  • Co-operate and accept other assignments the Director of Sales may deem necessary to assign as and when required.
