Overview The Westin Houston Downtown, located across the street from Daikin Park in Downtown Houston, is seeking a seasoned Sales Manager to effectively solicit groups in his/her market segments. He/she is also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/territory to positively impact hotel revenues. The hotel has 208 guest rooms, a four-story atrium lobby bar and several meeting room facilities. Responsibilities Must be able to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations. Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure. Must be able to show initiative in job performance, including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity. Must routinely meet deadlines. Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary. Qualifications Qualification Standards Education & Experience: College course work in related field helpful. Two years of experience in hotel sales. High School diploma or equivalent required. Must have a valid driver’s license in the applicable state. Physical requirements: Flexible and long hours sometimes required. Light work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
