SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager of Specialty Products is responsible for spearheading the sales growth and broadening market reach for the company’s products in food retailers and specialty food service distributors across the United States. This multi-faceted role encompasses leadership in sales, inventory management, and administrative functions, with a focus on driving new distribution in the food and food service trade.

EDUCATION:

  • BA/BS degree in business, economics, marketing or related field (required).

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in sales management, with a proven track record preferably in CPG (consumer packaged goods), food retail or food service industry.
  • Demonstrated success in opening new accounts, expanding distribution networks, and achieving or exceeding multimillion-dollar sales targets in highly competitive markets.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a proven ability to analyze data and market trends to inform decision-making and drive business growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of ERP forecasting/planning systems.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% across North America for client meetings and industry events.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive regional and national sales strategies that target key revenue growth opportunities and expand the company’s footprint within food retail and specialty food service sectors.
  • Serve as the primary contact for key clients and brokers, ensuring exceptional account management and relationship building through regular communication, tailored proposals, and problem resolution.
  • Monitor and analyze market data, identifying new product opportunities and distribution channels, providing actionable insights to internal teams for innovation and product launches.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Operations to craft cohesive go-to-market campaigns, ensuring seamless execution from product inception to shelf placement.
  • Lead the preparation of sales forecasts and inventory management strategies to align supply with projected demand, working closely with the supply chain and logistics departments.
  • Contribute to the formulation of an annual budget, providing insights and recommendations to senior management based on market dynamics and growth opportunities.
  • Actively participate in trade shows and industry events, representing the company to expand professional networks and explore new business opportunities.
