Winchester Royal Hotel invites you to be part of our dynamic team as Sales Manager. Nestled in the heart of Winchester, our hotel exudes elegance and charm.
General Scope and Purpose;
To research, penetrate and develop new business for Winchester Royal which aligns with revenue targets and budget.
To identify strategies to secure profitable transient, corporate and events business.
To follow up sales leads, grow and maintain existing relationships and to drive new business.
To secure and manage partnership opportunities and 3rd party listings & suppliers
To identify a list of target customers and manage these accounts consistently

Responsibilities:

  • Researching and qualifying potential direct customers with meeting, events and banqueting business. Securing these leads through own research but also working with our Cluster Director of Sales, to ensure that all leads are passed across to be follow up.
  • To be aware of new business, for both rooms and events coming to the area ensuring we are their first choice of venue.
  • To develop strategic account plans detailing objectives, timescales and sales methods to support the defined account strategy.
  • To demonstrate good commercial awareness of industry sectors and generate corporate business and researching those sectors accordingly.
  • To support and encourage awareness of the hotel by carrying out regular and relevant pro-active sales activities such as familiarisation trips and client presentations & events.
  • To undertake pro-active research ensuring the team knows what the conference customers’ needs, expectations and aspirations are.
  • To benchmark the hotel’s offer and price regularly in the market place.
  • To develop pro-active and innovative conference customer sales campaigns in conjunction with LRP and Cluster Director of Sales.
  • To be responsible for driving, co-ordinating and managing all sales activity directed towards all events bookers.
  • Develop a strong internal relationship with the Revenue & Marketing team, to create and execute Commercially focused sales strategy.
  • To assist the Revenue Manager in managing local room accounts.
  • To attend local sales and networking events.
  • To work with hotel management and central support services to communicate changes in the local market conditions and provide effective and timely solutions to minimise any detrimental effects.
  • To attend training when required.
  • To be fully aware of and comply with hotel and company rules and regulations as identified in the Team Member handbook, code of conduct and displayed on notice boards.
  • To be fully aware of and adhere to Health and Safety, fire, bomb threat and security procedures.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £40,000.00 per year
