Nestled beside the scenic Castlecomer Discovery Park, we are a destination of choice for weddings, events, romantic getaways, family breaks, and relaxed dining.
With exciting development plans underway – including new guest bedrooms and exclusive wedding and conference facilities – we are now seeking a dynamic, personable, and results-driven Sales & Marketing Executive to help us build strong relationships, secure new business, and grow our sales across key segments.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven face-to-face sales experience, ideally within hospitality, tourism, or events.
  • Confident and proactive in meeting clients, networking, and representing a business at events.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Comfortable working independently, on the road, and with flexible hours.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; CRM experience is an advantage.
  • Local knowledge of Kilkenny/Leinster and an interest in tourism, weddings, and events is highly desirable.
    Please note: This role is focused on sales and relationship-building, not digital marketing. Applicants whose experience is primarily in social media or online marketing should not apply.
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

This is not a digital marketing role. The focus is firmly on outbound sales, in-person networking, and building strong client relationships. The successful candidate will spend significant time outside the office meeting potential clients, attending networking events, and representing Avalon House Hotel in the community and beyond.
You will play a key role in driving revenue growth by securing weddings, private events, group bookings, and Golden Years business, while also supporting food & beverage promotions and corporate accounts.

MARKETING (SUPPORTING ROLE):

  • Assist with the creation and distribution of print materials such as brochures, flyers, menus, and event posters.
  • Help organise wedding showcases, in-house promotions, and local awareness events.
  • Provide content and updates to colleagues managing the hotel’s digital channels (note: digital marketing is not the core of this role).
