Description

SALES NEGOTIATOR

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven Sales Negotiator to join our internal sales team in Godalming. If you’re confident in your communication skills, proactive in your approach, and have a good understanding of customer service or sales support, this could be a great opportunity for you.
Ideally, you’ll have prior experience in sales, but we’re also open to considering strong sales administrators or coordinators who are keen to step up and grow into a sales role with full training and support.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting and liaising with the Depot Manager and Assistant Depot Manager on all internal sales activity.
  • Assisting both internal and external sales teams in hitting their sales targets.
  • Following up leads, generating new opportunities, and cold calling existing and potential customers.
  • Visiting customers alongside External Sales Managers or Directors (approx. once per month).
  • Responding to inbound enquiries by phone and email.
  • Preparing quotes, maintaining price lists, updating customer addresses, and keeping internal systems up to date.
  • Regularly reviewing your own performance against sales targets and KPIs.
  • Submitting weekly sales reports and engaging in regular check-ins with your line manager.
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure smooth service delivery for customers.
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers and liaising with them over the phone or during visits.
  • Providing holiday cover for internal sales colleagues — including occasional support at other depots if needed (with prior notice).
  • Ensuring External Sales team members are copied in on customer quotes and updates.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous sales experience, ideally in a similar trade or B2B environment.
  • OR a strong background in sales administration or customer service with the drive to move into a sales role (training provided).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A self-motivated and proactive mindset with a customer-first attitude.
  • Confidence to build relationships and handle objections on the phone.
  • Good organisational and IT skills for updating systems, managing quotes, and reporting.
  • A collaborative team player who can also work independently.

Why Join Us?

  • Full-time, stable role in a supportive, growing team.
  • Training and mentoring available for the right candidate.
  • Clear progression for someone eager to develop in a sales career.
  • Monday to Friday hours, no weekends.
  • Work with a well-established company that values its people and customer service.

A Few Important Bits

  • This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Godalming depot.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer sponsorship.
  • We may close the advert early if we find the right candidate, early applications are encouraged.
