DESCRIPTION:
About the opportunity..
The core responsibilities of the Sales Operations Data Analyst includes but is not limited to:
Data Collection & Management
- Gather, clean, and maintain large datasets related to sales performance, including sales revenue, pipeline metrics, and CRM data.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across multiple systems & tools (e.g. Salesforce, Excel, Zone), working with Salesforce Administrators to ensure data integrity best practice.
- Undertaking Lead list quality improvement and prepping for upload into Salesforce/CRM
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyse requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations on Salesforce best practices and solutions.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to project planning and timelines.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Perform in-depth analysis on sales trends, forecasting, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimization.
- Create and deliver regular reports and dashboards that track key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales teams and leadership.
- Develop ad-hoc reports to answer specific business questions and provide insights.
- Having a deep understanding of how and where core commercial data is captured and represented.
Sales Performance Optimization
- Identify patterns, inefficiencies, and bottlenecks in the sales process through data analysis and collaborate with sales leaders to address them.
- Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams to provide data-driven recommendations on pipeline management, lead generation, and conversion strategies.
Forecasting & Trend Analysis
- Assist in the development of sales forecasts by analyzing historical data and market trends.
- Support the Sales Operations team in preparing quarterly and annual revenue projections.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline sales reporting processes using BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and scripting (e.g., SQL, Python).
- Implement best practices for data visualization and reporting that improve the accessibility and effectiveness of sales data.
- Develop and maintain documentation on report requirements, data definitions, and report generation processes within Salesforce system.
- Provide training and support to end-users on report generation, dashboard navigation, and data interpretation.
- Create user guides and documentation to promote self-service reporting capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with ELMO’s information security privacy policies and procedures.
Collaboration & Communication
- Act as a key liaison between the Sales, Finance, and Marketing teams, ensuring alignment on data definitions, reporting requirements, and performance metrics.
- Present findings and recommendations to sales leadership and other stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
Desired Skills and Experience
- 4+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in an operations function, sales analytics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strength in creating insights and uncovering trends based on customer & sales data.
- Experience in sales data analysis, including performance, forecasting, pipeline.
- Ability to come up with a hypothesis explaining the current insights and trends, and support it with data driven insights.
- Understanding of sales performance metrics, compensation models, and incentive structures.
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with Salesforce.com platform.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools - Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets, Power BI or similar a bonus, SQL and/or Python.
- Salesforce Reporting certifications a plus.
