We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales & Store Operations Manager to successfully grow our Ag supply business in Sonoma County. This position will be based out of our Healdsburg facility, a boutique vineyard and farm supply dealer, providing materials to agriculture workers and companies throughout Sonoma and Mendocino Counties. The Sales & Operations Manager is a dual-impact role responsible for driving regional sales and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility. This leader will blend strategic business development with hands-on operational excellence to deliver results and elevate the customer experience. To accomplish this, they will hold themself and their team accountable to all company policies, procedures, and values. This position will be responsible for the overall financial performance of the facility. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 3 years’ sales management experience 3 years’ experience managing others. 3+ Agriculture Industry experience required (vineyard management or ag supply). DUTIES & RESPOSIBILITIES: Leadership: Serves as the primary leader for both in-store operations and regional sales growth. Coaches employee performance to ensure superior customer service and product knowledge. Addresses employee concerns related to the work environment. Partners with Human Resources for employee needs (e.g., hiring, pay changes, employee discipline, terminations, etc.). Identifies opportunities and recommends solutions to improve facility performance. Ensures employees attend product training meetings and are cross trained where appropriate. Models safe behavior, holds others accountable, attends all safety meetings, and contributes to safety committee activities. Models Company Values consistently. Sales Performance: Responsible for the execution of all sales strategies. Owns and manages a sales process with Leadership. Prospecting, Contacting Leads, Qualifying, Closing, Follow up Ensures pipeline report is updated and accurate. Consistently contacts customers to maintain and build relationships. Reaches out to prospects to gain new business. Assesses customer needs and aligns product solutions. Understands customers’ business and solves their problems (i.e., assist in resolving technical and delivery problems with the customer). Recommends product line opportunities, new products, and new sales initiatives. Responds to customer inquiries and needs promptly. Maintains proper customer documentation. Continually expands their network by participating in industry events, joins building trade associations, knows the local municipalities building officials (permitting, planning, inspection, etc.) Sets expectations for direct reports. Coaches and develops the team to enhance performance. Implements improvement plans as necessary if expectations aren’t met. Evaluates Sales Team’s effectiveness and productivity through the tracking of account activity and sales and margin growth. Provides product observations and recommends ideas to the Merchandising Team (e.g., pricing, new products, services, items to be discontinued, etc.). Maintains current, in-depth knowledge of the Company’s store products and their applications. Operational Results Ensures store is clean, properly merchandised, and safe. Oversees all aspects of facility operations including staffing, merchandising, safety, and customer experience, while aligning store performance with broader regional sales goals. Participates in budgeting and forecasting. Manages productivity metrics for wages against sales and expenses to meet budget. Maintains procedures (e.g., cash handling, special orders, inventory turns, theft, ordering, receiving, price changes, overrides, etc.). Ensures work schedules are completed and communicated to maximize labor based on sales for facility. Ensures timely receipt of materials and placement on floor to meet sales targets and merchandising expectations. Partners with Inventory Control, Marketing, Sales, and Merchandising to manage shrink, in-stock, inventory turns. Responsible for opening and closing of the facility. Observes store for potential theft and security risks. Performs other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Understands a facility Income Statement and how to drive net profitability. Proven results with regards to planning and execution. Highly developed management, selling, financial and business acumen. Exceptional organizational skills. Strong leadership skills in coaching and team building. Ability to develop and grow strong relationships with key customer contacts and suppliers. High level of decision-making ability balancing customer needs and company objectives. Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal. Critical thinking and problem solving.
