Description:
AstenJohnson is the leader in technical fabrics. Our drive to provide the best products and service in our industry is fueled by our associates and their drive to innovate. We want our associates to build careers here and become part of the fabric of our 230 year old company. We offer competitive pay, excellent benefits and a workplace built on respect and purpose.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
- Each team member must commit and comply to ZAC (Zero Accident Culture) policy.
- Each team member must be physically capable of complying with the Mill Safety Requirements of our customers (see Weyerhaeuser contract example attached). Failure to comply with our customer’s safety requirements will result in disqualification as a supplier.
- Each team member will be expected to spend 50% or more of the work week calling on customer locations, both mill and corporate. Extensive travel by car is required, so team members are expected to maintain safe operating condition of their lease vehicles.
- Given the remote location of customer mill locations, extensive driving will be required to perform essential job duties. Road safety is a must; associates must possess a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance and have a safe driving record. Your safety and that of our associates and customer’s is a key requirement of acceptable job performance.
- Appropriate physical fitness should be maintained to lessen the risk of work related injury and to avoid compromising the safety of customers and our associates while performing essential job requirements. The constant presence of high temperature and humidity conditions, wet and potentially slick cement floors, catwalks, and elevated walkways on customer’s machines, and high speed moving equipment pose a threat to your safety and well-being. Stay alert, stay fit, stay safe.
- Each associate must maintain active safety certification at all customer mill sites to insure access upon request. Annual training is required by all customer locations, and in addition, AstenJohnson will provide annual safety training. Due to the extensive use of heavy and cumbersome diagnostic equipment, each associate must observe safe lifting, holding, and carrying techniques to safeguard against work related injuries. All work injuries must be reported immediately to Team Leader and the SET officer in Kanata.
- Get adequate rest while traveling. Mill audits and mill shutdowns frequently require long work days, demanding physical activity, and prolonged standing on cement floors. Stay hydrated, wear comfortable safety shoes, and avoid loose clothing (wear company supplied service uniforms).
- Safety is a “core value” of AstenJohnson, we are proud to be the leader in our industry.
Work safe…think safe….be safe.
