JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Sales & Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining accurate records of customer sales orders, reconciling transactions with key customer finance providers, while supporting the Senior Purchase Ledger clerk on matching stock to GRN’s and posting invoices accurately and on a timely basis. This position requires strong attention to detail, be a self-starter while being a great team player.

Responsibilities
  • Processing of daily cash receipts to the sales ledger including Credit Card and Consumer Finance customer payments and any other customer receipts
  • Reconciling that the daily cash received for orders taken is as expected
  • Supporting the Customer Services Finance & Admin Manager in obtaining customer payments across multiple payment platforms and processing customer refunds
  • Generating ad hoc invoices where required to support the Customer Services Finance & Admin Manager
  • Maintaining accurate records through the Syspro sales ledger of customer deposits in advance of production of bikes or PAC orders
  • Allocation of cash to sales invoices and credit notes and maintaining accurate and correct sales ledger accounts for each payment type or customer
  • Proactively following up any cash/invoice discrepancy and properly resolve with the correct solution
  • Processing finance scheme commissions
  • Issuing customer statements and proactively chasing for payment to terms
  • Liaising with customers and scheme providers to resolve payment and invoice queries
  • Where debts become overdue proactively take steps to recover the debt and escalate through the business where there is no resolution
  • Providing the business with monthly sales ledger debt reports and a narrative on any overdue debt and actions being taken to resolve
  • Matching GRN’s to purchase invoices for stock and following up on all discrepancies so that the business has accurate reporting of purchase variances and stock receipt issues
  • Processing of purchase ledger invoices and credit notes and making sure these are authorised for payment
  • Processing of staff expenses and credit card transactions, ensuring all are properly supported documentation and appropriate items of business expense
  • Supporting the Senior Purchase Ledger role in preparing payment runs, carrying out statement reconciliations
  • Provide cover for other members of the Finance Team as and when required
  • Ad-hoc duties as and when required by the business
