JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent promotes and sells the company’s products and services within an assigned territory, to current clients or by soliciting new clients. They make product and service recommendations based on the clients’ needs and budget. They negotiate and close deals according to company guidelines. They follow up with existing clients to ensure their satisfaction. The representative organizes and conducts business analysis for all key accounts. They implement value-added services and solutions, maintaining comprehensive customer profiles. They stay updated on product knowledge and continuously monitor changes in the market. The representative creates long-term relationships with assigned clients and collaborates with various departments to better serve clients and provide tailored proposals. They engage in the organization’s social activities aimed at sales development and support price lists, credit terms, warranties, and delivery schedules set by the company. The representative maintains constant communication with management teams and yard foremen for follow-up on upcoming projects and inventory availability. Other related tasks may be assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION

  • DEP and/or DEC in sales or related experience, with 5 years of experience.
  • Bilingual.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and vehicle.
  • Computer and sales software proficiency.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and the construction/contractor field (asset).
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain sales to contractors and commercial accounts.
  • Promote and sell a full range of building materials to commercial clients.
  • Develop and maintain a call log and prospect list.
  • Stay informed of company pricing, practices, and policies and ensure adherence.
  • Maintain regular contact with commercial account clients.
  • Keep up to date with industry developments and client needs.
  • Work closely with the purchasing manager to establish special pricing.
  • Hold daily meetings with the Vice President of Operations to review the progress and development of commercial accounts.
  • Participate in ongoing training regarding building materials and lumber products, including their uses and features.
  • Handle client complaints effectively.
