JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sales Representative is responsible for identifying and securing new revenue opportunities across Carmen’s asset-based and brokerage divisions. This individual will focus on building long-term relationships with small to mid-sized shippers, actively prospecting and closing new business to support the company’s growth targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities aligned with company goals
  • Identify and target new customers through prospecting, referrals, research, and cold outreach
  • Represent both asset-based (FTL/LTL) and brokerage services in a professional and strategic manner
  • Build trust-based relationships with prospects and convert them into long-term customers
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of market conditions, customer needs, and competitor offerings
  • Coordinate with internal team to secure and present competitive rate offerings
  • Negotiate and close deals with a focus on long-term value and profitability
  • Attend industry events and leverage business development functions to build network and brand awareness
  • Provide market feedback to the Sales Manager and contribute to strategy planning
  • Accurately update CRM with prospect and customer activity and maintain organized follow-ups

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years of B2B sales experience in North American transportation (brokerage and/or asset-based)
  • Proven ability to convert prospects, close business, and meet or exceed sales targets
  • Strong understanding of FTL, LTL, and spot market dynamics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently or within a team
  • High integrity, strong work ethic, and professional demeanor
  • Proficient in CRM platforms and Microsoft Office Suite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • University or College degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Existing network of small to mid-sized shippers
