Description JOB SUMMARY: The Business Development Specialist will work closely with the Sales Manager to drive new business for Commercial and Retail. The Business Development Specialist will develop and execute strategies for discovering and securing new business opportunities. This role will build customer relationships and contribute to Sales in the territory. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Gather market intelligence concerning competition, and product trends in the commercial flooring industry. Assess prospective and assigned customer’s current and potential needs Develop and implement strategies, account and business plans through leveraging customer knowledge and understanding customer needs. Build and foster beneficial relationships with business partners (residential contractors, hospitals, end-users), potential clients, and business contacts to attract new business and enhance organization reputation. Maintain a pipeline including managing customer/account activities (cold calls, appointments) as well as using technical tools such as email, PowerPoint, and CRM. On an ongoing basis, maintain records, compile reports and track significant projects in the territory. Contribute to the achievement of a sales budget for the territory. Organize “lunch and learn” educational sessions with appropriate customers. Represent Company at trade shows and local events as needed. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to build effective messaging to help drive opportunities for new business. Travel up to 50%. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience. Sales, Marketing or Business preferred. 2. One year of experience in sales related position 3. Computer/technology skills. 4. Impactful presentation skills. 5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 6. Strong analytical, problem solving, and negotiation skills.
