Description

We have an exceptional opportunity within our Sales group for the position of Sales Representative for the Prairies region.
As a Sales Representative, you will be responsible for driving sales and establishing strong relationships with distribution channels in the construction and agricultural industry throughout the Prairies. Your primary focus will be on promoting and selling our range of steel fencing and construction wire products.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B sales, with a focus on steel or construction products.
  • Proven track record of success in B2B sales, preferably in the steel or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of the construction and agricultural market in the Prairies.
  • Excellent business communication and negotiation skills.
  • Solid understanding of MS Excel, CRM and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory (1-2 weeks per month)

Product Knowledge

Responsibilities

Sales Growth

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets within the assigned territory.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing distributors to ensure repeat business.

Product Knowledge

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, product developments, and competitor offerings.
  • Provide product demonstrations and training to customers. Main products: Nails, Concrete Mesh, Fencing Products and Stucco Reinforcement Products.

Market Analysis

  • Conduct market research to understand the needs and preferences of customers in the steel and construction industry.
  • Provide feedback to the marketing and product development teams to help refine and enhance our product offerings.

Reporting

  • Prepare budgets for selling expenses and other key SG&A components within the region, as required.
  • Actively participate in forecasting of volume, price, and product mix based on customer, market, and economic conditions. Prepare periodic reports showing volume and market share.
